Chocoholics will be able to indulge themselves in their favourite sweet treat with tastings, truffle making and even portrait painting with chocolate at a special Chocolate Week being held at the True Blue Bay Boutique Resort in Grenada from 18-25 May.

This first ever Chocolate Week is being held in partnership with chocolatier, Gerry Wilton and is a celebration of chocolate in all its forms from cocoa pods on the tree to soothing chocolate body wraps.

Gerry Wilton will explain the history of chocolate and provide tastings so participants can see the difference between the very best and the not so good chocolate.  He will also guide participants in truffle making, filling simple moulds as well as shapes such as chocolate shoes and ‘painting’ a portrait with chocolate. 

Grenada is one of the few places where chocolate is produced in the same place as the cocoa is grown.  So the week includes a tour of the Belmont Cocoa Plantation to see how cocoa is grown, processed and turned into award winning chocolate.

At True Blue Bay cooks, Esther and Omega, will demonstrate how to cook with chocolate.  There will also be a chance to try cocoa tea – a popular drink locally, be pampered with a chocolate spa treatment and delight the taste buds with a chocolate themed gala dinner.

During the week there will also be time to relax by the pool at True Blue Bay or at nearby beaches and enjoy other resort activities such as yoga classes and water sports including kayaking or sailing on Hobie Cats.
