Ski Cool, St Moritz, Switzerland takes care of the details for the most discerning clients and introduces more English and Russian speaking instructors for this winter alongside a brand new way of teaching beginners with the UPS System.
If you're considering a ski holiday this winter to the resort of St Moritz then the chances are you're used to service that goes beyond the ordinary.Arguably the most glamorous ski resort town in the world, St Moritz attracts some of the most successful, affluent and well-travelled skiers throughout the winter months.
The sheer amount of luxury hotels, gourmet restaurants and designer boutiques ensures that exclusivity is guaranteed. Major events such as the Polo World Cup On Snow, involving top teams from Great Britain, Argentina and North America and the White Turf Horse race that since 1907, has provided world class equestrian sport, attract an international and celebrity audience to the area.
Visitors to St Moritz therefore expect their on-snow experience to match that and the surroundings.
Ski Cool was established to cater for this discerning market and provides a service that ensures every detail is taken care of, leaving valuable time for holidays to be enjoyed as they should be. Vittorio Caffi, Ski Cool founder and Vice President of the International Ski Instructors Federation (ISIA) and President of the technical commission, holds the very top qualifications from the British Association of Snowsports Instructors (where he was International Director from 2004 to 2012) as well as the French, Swiss and Italian federations. He established Ski Cool in 2007 to cater for local and international demand in St Moritz.
There are now over twenty qualified instructors, with some licenced to teach adapted techniques for disabled skiers requiring specialist equipment. This winter, Ski Cool will expand their offering with more English and Russian speaking instructors, as the demand from the luxury end of the market continues to grow. Vittorio says, 'we don't just offer ski instruction, but also ensure our guests are looked after with whatever they need whilst in St Moritz'. 'Of course, our instructors are all highly qualified and fantastic ski teaching is our number one priority, but we really make sure we look after our guests whenever they need something, in that way, we are more like a club'.
Ski Cool offer ski and snowboard lessons for every level, from complete beginner to experts who want to explore off-piste terrain. Completely exclusive within Switzerland to Ski Cool St Moritz is the UPS system of teaching. UPS has been designed to allow a more rapid progression for skiers at every level. Developed by Slovenian ski racer and coach, Sandi Murovec, it allows beginners to reach parallel skiing within one day and offers a progression of ski lengths starting with small sizes and building up gradually. More advanced skiers can utilise the system to improve their skills, whilst even world cup ski racers, like Giant Slalom World Champion and World Cup winner Tina Maze, regularly use the special short skis to train with.
Ski Cool also offers a varied program that includes private lessons for up to three people, or private group lessons for up to six people. Then, there are off-piste groups, mogul lessons, freestyle sessions and carving courses available, all with a maximum of four people in a group.
Other activities offered by Ski Cool and its partners during the winter season include, horse drawn sleigh rides, tobogganing, tandem skydiving, curling and snow shoeing through the wonderful landscape of the Engadine Valley. For some further adventure, Ski Cool have close ties with a selection of specialist providers, like the Air Taxi, a form of paragliding and hang-gliding using Alpine skis. Instructors will accompany you during the 10-15 minutes flight, which starts from the top of Corviglia Mountain and lands near to the St Moritz Lake.
