For anyone wanting to pick up new techniques or simply wanting to learn the basics of Italian cuisine, there is no better place than in Italy itself.
An Aeolian Adventures holiday includes not only cookery lessons in the delightful surroundings of Sicily's Aeolian Islands, but also offers guests the chance to discover the region's wines and to explore the local culture and sights.
Along with cookery lessons led by the chefs in family run restaurants, there are visits to some of the islands' vineyards, as well as the opportunity to go night fishing for squid, to try your hand at goats' cheese making and to explore the local markets.
Experiences on offer also include visits to historic sites, open air theatre, guided walks and sea swimming. Another highlight of the itinerary is a night time boat trip to see the eruptions of the Stromboli volcano.
Typically tours are based on a seven day itinerary but guests can enjoy short breaks with varied itineraries, all personally guided by Aeolian Adventures' Laura Panico, whose family are from the region.
Adventures including cookery lessons and other activities, accommodation, food and all local transfers start from £1,200 per person, for a fully inclusive four day programme.
