The travel industry's leading media event runs online in the UK from 17-19 May 2021
TravMedia UK has announced the launch of IMM Virtual 2021, a three-day online event connecting the global travel industry with the UK media, running from 17-19 May 2021 (https://travmedia.com/immuk).
IMM is the showpiece media event for the worldwide travel industry and IMM Virtual 2021 will enable organisations to enjoy 24 meetings across three days with the UK's most powerful travel journalists. The event replaces the face-to-face IMM scheduled for 17-18 May which had been due to take place at IMM's long-term home, the QEII Centre in London.
Worldwide tourism and travel brands interested in learning more about IMM Virtual 2021 are encouraged to join an 'IMM Virtual 2021 – Your Questions Answered' webinar on Tuesday 30 Mar 2021 (2:00 PM GMT). Registration for the free webinar is available here: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_6BRFFStbRdG9G1Z3DFtaMw
The 'IMM Virtual' technology has operated successfully worldwide during the last year, with events organised by TravMedia in North America, Asia, Germany, and Australia. Tourist boards and industry bodies have also harnessed TravMedia's technology for their own meetings events.
IMM Virtual 2021 registration for travel brands, media and influencers is now open. Journalists already confirmed for the UK show represent media titles including BBC, The Times, The Telegraph, The Sun, City AM, Fabulous, Men's Health and TTG.
Organisations already signed up include Atout France, Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, Croatian National Tourist Board, German National Tourist Office, Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau, Tourism British Columbia, VisitDenmark, Visit Portugal, and wider industry brands such as HF Holidays, Musée de la Romanité, and Rocky Mountaineer.
Delegates attending IMM Virtual 2021 can also join focused networking groups and a travel editors' panel session, and so enjoy the complete IMM experience online. Sponsorship opportunities include press conferences, banner ads and branded goods.
Since its creation in the UK in 2013, IMM has grown to become the leading global event connecting the travel industry and media, with shows held annually worldwide. Last March in London, IMM hosted almost 400 journalists and influencers, who met with over 160 travel and tourism brands (full exhibitor list below).
For 2021, the show's ninth year, the three days of targeted meetings will be pre-booked through IMM's usual Meetings Manager platform. Everyone's entire IMM day will be delivered to delegates' PC screens, with just one button click needed to commence the day.
PR representatives will hold meetings from the comfort of their own branded exhibitor 'booth', featuring destination backdrops, introductory videos, and downloadable media assets.
Exhibitor bookings for IMM Virtual 2021 start from just £695 (TravMedia UK customers only) and £795 for all other organisations. Prices will increase from 26 March, at the end of IMM Virtual's earlybird booking period. However, the early bird prices will be extended for one week (until 2 April) for all brands that attend the webinar on 30 March.
Said Henry Hemming, TravMedia UK's Managing Director: “All our industry customers worldwide can look forward to three energised days in May! Naturally we are hugely disappointed that we had to move from a face-to-face IMM to a virtual show on this occasion as we know how much IMM in London means to our media and PR representatives.”
He added: “With travel edging back to normality in the months ahead, and a halcyon booking period for the industry anticipated, we're predicting our virtual event in May will sell out.”
TravMedia also announced today that The TravMedia Awards, launched in 2020 with the debut ceremony held on the final night of IMM, hosted by celebrity John Humphrys, will now be held this Autumn, and separated from IMM. Amongst the most hotly contested awards will be Travel Journalist of the Year, PR Professional of the Year, and Influencer of the Year. The evening also features an Outstanding Contribution Award. The site and entry process will be launched soon, TravMedia confirmed.
