At the Catalonia-Catalan Tourist Board, we aim to generate brand awareness of Catalonia as a leading tourist destination, as well as to increase the arrivals of tourists to the region. The main strands of our work are to give support to the travel trade and media sectors, assist the Catalan tourism industry, conduct market research, and develop a public relations plan for Catalonia as a tourist destination.
Located in the northeast of the Iberian Peninsula, Catalonia is a well-known Mediterranean destination with a millenary history, its own culture and language, plus a wealthy historical and natural heritage. With a population of over 7.5 million, the region covers 32,107 km2 and enjoys a temperate and mild Mediterranean climate, characterised by dry, warm summers and moderately cool winters. Furthermore, Catalonia is home to many significant towns: from its capital, Barcelona, to the provincial cities of Girona, Tarragona and Lleida, and smaller country and fishing towns filled with remarkable heritage and majestic monuments.
We like to say that we are a land of contrasts and an all-year-round destination. The region offers extensive opportunities for all tourists. From culture cravers to family travellers, sports enthusiasts to wildlife wanderers, and also for those just looking to relax. Catalonia's excellent facilities and place it as one of Europe's prime tourist areas.
The Catalan Tourist Board is present in more than 30 countries around the world through its Network of Offices, coordinated by our central office in Barcelona. Our goal is to reach every important outbound market, provide them with B2B services and promote the range of tourism options available in Catalonia. For this reason, with our central office in London, we hope to keep helping the United Kingdom and Ireland become one of the biggest outbound markets for Catalonia; with travellers from all corners of the British Isles coming every year to relax and enjoy our mountains, landscapes, beaches and towns.
Welcome to Catalonia!
