InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG®) has announced the launch of its newest IHG® Business Rewards promotion, Double Play Double Points, offering members the opportunity to double the points they can earn on bookings made through participating IHG hotels worldwide.
To thank IHG® Rewards Club members for their loyalty, the new Double Play Double Points promotion means double rewards points can be earned on accommodation, meetings and events bookings (capped at US20,000) made throughout the promotional period of 1 January 2017 to 15 April 2017, for events and stays up until 31 August 2017.
That means for every US$1 a member spends on bookings up to a capped US$20,000, they earn six points (instead of three) and for members spending over this capped dollar amount, six points will be earned for every US$1 on the first US$20,000 spent, before reverting back to earning three points for every US$1 thereafter.
Double points can be accumulated on any spend. Examples of the double points to be earned are as follows:
- Spend US$2,000 and receive 12,000 Double Points
- Spend US5,000 and receive 30,000 Double Points
- Spend US20,000 and receive 120,000 Double Points
In addition to double points earned, members have the opportunity to reap richer rewards for high value bookings by earning an additional 35,000 supplementary points, with a minimum spending of US$20,000, on a single event or individual booking. There is no restriction on the number of high value bookings that can be made, and supplementary points will be received for each individual high value booking.
