InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) Australia today adds its voice to the call for equal rights for all Australians, as a corporate supporter of Australian Marriage Equality.
Karin Sheppard, IHG's Chief Operating Officer, Australasia & Japan, commented, “For me, and the IHG team, equality simply makes sense. Our 5,300 colleagues in Australasia, as well as our millions of guests each year, represent every part of the fabric of society. We celebrate that as an organisation every day as we bring True Hospitality to life, making everyone feel welcome and cared for."
“With the Australian Marriage Law Survey now confirmed to go ahead we felt this was an important time to add our community message of support for a social issue that speaks to our belief about equality. LGBTI people may find themselves surrounded by difficult conversations over the coming weeks as the topic is debated in the public domain. Our message to our colleagues, and their friends and families, is that we are with them 100%."
"This is no longer a political issue, it's a social issue that speaks to belief about equality. At IHG we stand by our value to do the right thing, and live by our philosophies of diversity, inclusion and true hospitality."
