It's not often that dog friendly cottages are quite as luxurious as those on the Millbrook Estate in North Devon. Rated 5 star by Visit England the properties ensure doggy comfort and owner bliss. Intimate wedding ceremonies, with no more than 8 guests, are regular events on this gloriously private estate and the owners are reporting that more and more couples want to share their day with their four-legged best friend. 

Already well-established as a perfect intimate or runaway wedding venue, the Millbrook team take care to arrange every small detail which often includes canine involvement. “We started organising small weddings over 4 years ago, inspired by our own perfect day here,” says co-owner Kate Boothby. “We attract couples who want a beautiful day but none of the complications. Often just immediate family attend and this includes the family pet. During this last year we have organised over double the amount of dog-friendly weddings. We are still often called in as witnesses though - paw prints don't count” she smiles. 

Situated in 32 scenic and well-managed acres in North Devon, Millbrook Cottages are a dog walkers dream. Meander through wild meadows, woodland trails, hills, fields, lakes and gardens with no fear of bumping into less well-bred pooches as your dog has the freedom he has only ever dreamed about. Even the local pub 10 minutes' walk away is dog friendly.

Two of the four properties welcome dogs and both Corncott Cottage and The Wheel Room feature LCD TV, Blu-Ray player, hi-tech music system, Egyptian cotton linen, fluffy towels and dressing gowns. Designer crockery and cutlery grace the granite work tops in both kitchens and Laura Ashley furniture and fittings ensure that comfort and quality abound in equal measures. Dog biscuits and poop bags are also provided.

And if guests want to leave the heavenly environs of the estate, the rolling North Devon countryside, Exmoor National Park and the coast awaits less than half an hour away. Millbrook can even organise local doggy day care for visitors who want to venture somewhere less canine-caring.
