New light show and tour at the Déri Musuem in Debrecen

One of the biggest treasures in Debrecen, Hungary’s second largest city in the east of the country is the three huge paintings of the Chris-trilogy at the Déri Musuem. These huge murals each take up a whole wall of the Munkácsy Hall and were painted by Mihály Munkácsy from 1882 to 1886. Vistors can now enjoy a 20 minute themed guided tour (biblical, histriocial or art history themes), followed by a music light show to see these impressive paintings lit up in all their glory. Munkácsy was a Hungarian painter who lived in Paris and gained an international reputation for his large scale biblical paitings. Tickets are HUF600 (less than £2).
