Walkway Over the Hudson – Poughkeepsie
At 2.05 kilometers across, and 64.6 meters high, the Walkway is the longest elevated pedestrian bridge in the world. With access from either side of the river, this New York State Historic Park gives visitors a birds' eye views of the Hudson River and nearby Catskill Mountains.
Dover Stone Church – Dover Plains
Not a 'stone church' you're probably thinking – in fact, it's an ancient cavern hewn by time in the formation similar to a church's cathedral stained glass window. The cavern was the county's first tourism attraction, and remains a popular destination for New York City dwellers to visit and enjoy the recuperative fresh air and beauty of upstate.
Appalachian Trail – Pawling
A portion of the iconic trail (the longest hiking-only footpath in the world) passes right through eastern Dutchess! This national treasure includes sweeping views, local plants and animals, and an adventure you'll never forget.
Ferncliff Forest – Rhinebeck
Climb up into the historic fire tower for some of the most gorgeous views of the Hudson River, Catskill Mountains and panaromic landscape.
