HUALAPAI RIVER RUNNERS TO OFFER

NEW WILD EXCURSIONS ON THE COLORADO RIVER

PEACH SPRINGS, Ariz. –  Grand Canyon Resort Corporation will soon announce the newest river-rafting excursion from their wildly popular Hualapai River Runners attraction. Details are pending final approval, but the new trip is said to offer a new perspective from within the Grand Canyon walls including an overnight experience.

With the season running March through October each year, the Hualapai River Runners has been providing thrilling excitement to guests for over 40 years. The Hualapai River Runners offers the only one day white water excursion in the Grand Canyon, and will now offer its first overnight add on option.

“The Hualapai River Runners are not only concerned about guest safety, but is also focused on providing a historical look at land that has been inhabited by the Hualapai tribe for hundreds of years,” explains Hualapai River Runners General Manager Earlene Havatone.

Guests start their river running adventure in the early morning with a bus trip down the only road to the canyon floor. After loading up equipment and securing life jackets, riders are placed on the blue motorized boats for a safety lesson before departure. The first half of the trip includes rapids ranging from class 5 to 7. The first half also includes lunch on the riverbank and a hike up to the Travertine Falls. The second half of the trip includes a smooth ride down the river while hearing tales of the area from the local river guide. Guests end the day at Grand Canyon West, home of the world famous Skywalk.

Details on the new overnight excursion for the Hualapai River Runners will be released late summer.
