While the report does not confirm as to wether the booking was made with a venue or an online tour operator, this information does correspond with a similar survey taken out by Great Golf Magazine with their readers in which more than 60% stated that they booked directly with the golf resort.
What this report seems to show is that it is imperative for resorts to have a strong online booking system (for both accomodation and golf) in order to tap into this market and that exposure through articles and advertising in Travel Publications is vital in order to put their product in front of the prospective customer.
