Charli, from the five-star hotel, looked back through 50 years' worth of Valentine's Day requests this year, to create the luxury package for guests, which includes a room filled with £1,000 worth of flowers and chocolates, a private chauffeur on standby, a personal shopper, and free flowing champagne.
The most romantic gestures and engagements from the hotel's 50-year history have included:
- A private horse and cart, organised to take one couple from the hotel to a concert at the Royal Albert Hall
- A Chef request to make all of a lucky lady's favourite dishes, followed by delivery of a bottle of Champagne with an engagement ring placed in her glass
- A violinist performing next to a couple's private table in the hotel's top floor restaurant, Min Jiang, throughout the meal and for an extra special proposal
- A singing butler serving a couple in their room, before presenting an engagement ring on a silver platter
- A room filled to the brim with balloons and flowers, which opened up to champagne and chocolates on the table by the window with a hand-written romantic note
Over the 50 years, the hotel has seen many proposals, and it has played an important part in a number of love stories, including that of Mr and Mrs McLaughlin who met during the construction of the hotel in 1964. The couple also celebrated their golden anniversary this year and their story amongst other is recollected in the hotel's 50th anniversary book.
The newly launched Ultimate Valentine's Package for couples who want to go the extra mile for their loved one this year is £6,000, and available on Sunday 14th February to include:
- An overnight stay in a Master Suite (early arrival and late check-out available) with a bottle of Dom Perignon upon arrival
- Full English breakfast in room with free flowing Champagne
- A four-course Min Jiang dinner served in room
- A room filled with a thousand pounds worth of flowers and luxury chocolates
- Couples spa treatments (a facial and massage each)
- A private chauffeur on standby from 10am till 6pm
- A personal shopper at Harrods and Selfridges
The Royal Garden Hotel's Head of Romance, Charli, comments: “At The Royal Garden Hotel, Valentine's Day is the romantic highlight in our calendar. We've seen some really romantic gestures over the hotel's 50-year history and I wanted to create something extra special to give real Golden Moments for couples. The package is the perfect combination of extravagance and intimacy to show your loved one how much they mean to you.”
