Hotel G Beijings General Manager, Alex Chakrabarti, welcomed famous Irish author Colm Toibin during his stay at Hotel G, Beijings latest designer boutique hotel.
With the latest novel Brooklyn, a tale of a woman emigrating to Brooklyn from Enniscorthy, Mr. Toibin was longlisted for the 2009 Booker Prize. Having a great author like Mr. Toibin staying at Hotel G with us is absolutely exciting! And his visit to Beijing with the latest book shows that Beijing has drawn more and more attention from all over the world, says Mr. Chakrabarti.
Inspired by the retro chic of the 1960s, Hotel G is targeting a niche market of design-conscious, sophisticated young professionals, entrepreneurs, celebrities and socialites.
With a striking entrance and faade which transforms into an explosion of colored lights by night (hotel guests can actually select their own window lighting), the 110-room Hotel G Beijing is the first of an exclusive boutique hotel brand launched by Hong Kong-based real estate private equity management firm Gateway Capital and a model to be rolled out in selected cities of China and Asia.
