NEW YORK- Hotel Beacon, Upper West Side's most popular home away from home, continues to enhance guest facilities with the recent addition of a climate-controlled fitness room and self-service laundry.
Open 24 hours, the fitness room and laundry provide added convenience for busy business travellers and leisure visitors to New York City.
The addition of a fitness room was the number one request coming from past guests of the hotel, says Mr Thomas Travers, Hotel Beacon's General Manager.
Guests can now work out to cure their jetlag or walk off that slice of New York cheesecake with the fitness room's three treadmills, stationary bike, two elliptical machines and a Universal Weight Resistance machine. The hotel's superior cooling and heating system ensures a climate-controlled environment at any hour of the day or night.
Prior to the development and launch date of the new facility, guests had the option of working out at a nearby off-site Equinox gym. That option is still available for guests seeking additional fitness classes such as Pilates instruction.
"We know how important it is for guests to maintain their fitness while on vacation or work travel," says Mr Travers. "That concern is reflected in the level of enquiries about gym facilities our bookings team receives. Hotel Beacon is delighted to continue to expand the facilities available to our guests."
Pay $10 to have a shirt laundered? No way! Featuring four brand-new washing machines and four dryers, the new Hotel Beacon laundry is operated as self-service for guests.
A nominal fee per wash and dry is charged and can be paid via credit card, eliminating the need to collect quarters for coin-operated machines. Laundry detergent and fabric softener are available via vending machine.
Open 24 hours, the laundry is popular with travellers who prize the convenience and economy of self-service.
"Travellers who have been on the road for days or weeks will inevitably accumulate clothes that need to be laundered," says Mr Travers. "We like to offer guests all the comforts of home to ensure their stay is relaxed and memorable. The new laundry is also appreciated by our many long-stay guests who would prefer to save money on drycleaning and full-service laundromats so they can spend it on New York dining and shopping."
