Hotel Aurelio Lech Wins Interior Design Award - Luxury Ski Hotel Scoops The Prize For Best Bedrooms & Bathrooms
The ski and spa retreat, Hotel Aurelio scooped the prize for best bathrooms and bedrooms at the European Hotel Design Awards 2009, proving itself as one of the finest design-led boutique hotels in Europe; featuring 19 unique and individually-designed rooms and bathrooms, which combine modern chic with classical design.
The Awards took place on 2nd November, and celebrates the best of hotel design and architecture across the continent. This was the 12th ceremony of its kind with guests including some of the industries most influential professionals. This year saw the highest number of entries, making Aurelio Lechs prize even more rewarding.
Hotel Aurelio Lech was designed by s+s architektur ing. Sibylle Schaschl in co-operation with one of todays leading interior architects, Mlinaric, Henry & Zervudachi (MHZ). Every room and suite was individually designed and refers to the culture of the alpine village and its special qualities such as the friendly hospitality and healthy lifestyle, says Tino Zervudachi. Wooden features on the walls and corridors provide a typical ambience of a comfortable winter chalet; however, that is about as far as it goes to comparing the Hotel with other chalets. Each of the 19 rooms have spacious balconies with breathtaking views of the snow covered mountains; French and African natural fabrics enhance the stylish Asian wooden furniture; creating a sophisticated and fresh warmth of home; whilst every room offers modern amenities including Internet access and a multi-media entertainment system.
Found in the beautiful ski resort of Lech, near Alberg in Austria, the key influence of Aurelio Lechs design concept can be seen from every window the visually stunning mountain scenery surrounding the property. A modern meets chic philosophy was the major driving force behind the design from the beginning. The choice of materials was influenced by natural elements such as wood, rough rock, calm colours and textiles. This creates the hotels comfortable yet luxurious feel. As well as rooms and suites; the hotels bathrooms are also unique. Some have a cool alpine feel, with light coloured tiling and wall-covering mirrors, and others have a warmer, cabin feel, with wooden walls and marble finishes. No matter what the design, each room and bathroom is equally as elegant and luxurious as the others, making Aurelio Lech a well-deserving, contemporary winner for Europes best bedrooms & bathrooms.
