Host Unusual will be providing a package of support for Shades Day through their digital channels which will allow the charity to multiply their promotional reach to a wider audience. Activities will include messaging across all their platforms, content generation, approaching their portfolio of property owners and hosting a competition.

Shades Day is the Family Holiday Association's annual national fundraising and awareness day when everyone is encouraged to wear a pair of sunglasses for charity whatever the weather. It takes place on Friday 15 May this year with activities going on all that week.

Wearing shades and sharing photos on social media using #ShadesDay helps spread the charity's message that everyone deserves a chance to experience the benefits of a much-needed break. For many struggling families in desperate circumstances, the joy of paddling in the sea, building a sandcastle or simply seeing each other smile can lift them out of every day cares and worries and enrich their lives forever. 

Launched in 2016, Host Unusual offers a hand-picked directory featuring the most unique and extraordinary UK and worldwide places to stay - from treehouses to lighthouses, churches to caves, quirky glamping sites to luxury holidays and beyond.
