HOSHINOYA, a brand of luxury hotels offering extraordinary experiences that focus on the distinct themes of each property, will open its ninth property, HOSHINOYA Lodge Niseko (tentative) at the top of Hirafu village in Kutchan, Hokkaido.
As the first residence hotel in Hokkaido under the HOSHINOYA brand, HOSHINOYA Lodge Niseko is scheduled to open in the fall of 2026 after construction commenced in May 2023.
The Niseko area is home to one of Japan's leading ski resorts. Each year throughout winter, thousands of visitors come to experience the fine powder snow which it is globally renowned for. In addition to being a popular ski destination, visitors can enjoy white water rafting in spring as well as climb Mount Yotei to appreciate its green scenery in summer and rich colours in autumn.
Located at the city's highest elevation, HOSHINOYA Lodge Niseko will offer ski-in/ski-out access to the Niseko Tokyu Grand HIRAFU Ski Resort, the largest ski resort in the Niseko area. With a wide variety of slopes and a plethora of dining options, you can ski and snowboard by day and explore the many restaurants and bars by night.
The terrace on the top floor of the hotel will feature an onsen (hot spring) pool with magnificent views of Mount Yotei, making it the perfect choice of accommodation for guests who would like to relax both the mind and body after a long day on the slopes.
To share HOSHINOYA's spirit of hospitality with people from around the world, HOSHINOYA Lodge Niseko will be a residence hotel where each guest room will be sold to a unit owner. Hoshino Resorts will operate the units as hotel rooms where the owners can enjoy access for certain periods of the year.
With a focus on privacy, all guest rooms will be equipped with a separate kitchen and a living-dining room for a comfortable extended stay. A “gathering service” will be offered, where ingredients that have been prepared by in-house chefs will be delivered to the room, for guests to enjoy authentic cuisine with only a few simple steps to finish the dish. This is a style of dining that makes it possible to enjoy a relaxing meal in a private space.
