Football fans across the world seeking quality, reputable and fairly priced accommodation, information and advice for Brazil 2014 are turning to the UK’s leading holiday rentals site HomeAway.co.uk for help.
With only around three months to go until the World Cup kicks off, HomeAway.co.uk has seen a huge surge in web traffic to its dedicated information page about the World Cup, which has been bolstered by an interactive infographic map. Visitors to the page have increased by 160% and are coming from all over the world including the host country itself. Hits from Brazil make up just under half of total web traffic to the page.
HomeAway.co.uk’s interactive map gives football fans vital information about the 12 host cities, teams and calendar of stages and events with available accommodation options so that travellers can plan their trip to the very last detail.
By 11 March 2014, all World Cup ticket applicants will be informed by email or text as to whether or not their application has been successful following the allocation of the second random selection draw, which releases over 470,000 tickets. (For more details see FIFA announcement.)
For those who still haven’t booked their accommodation there’s good news – there are still plenty of good quality self-catering options available on the site to suit all budgets. Sao Paulo , currently the most popular area with visitors to the site, has 7,980 rentals still available during the tournament. Other areas with a good choice of accommodation still available include Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Fortaleza and Brasilia.
Gregory Sion, Regional Director for HomeAway.co.uk said: “Finding good quality accommodation at an affordable price for the World Cup can be a minefield, so we wanted to help fans by providing as much information as possible. We were fascinated to see the page is proving so popular with Brazilians themselves as well as those in the UK, the USA and even Singapore and Australia.”
On average, good quality accommodation in many of the host cities can be found on the HomeAway.co.uk website for around 1/3 of the price of a hotel. The holiday rental site advises all travellers to speak with property owners to secure the type of accommodation they want, in the right area. Travellers can benefit hugely from property owners’ local expertise and also make better informed decisions about their travel plans.
