The 42nd President of the United States, Bill Clinton, is currently enjoying a stay at Casa De Campo Resort and Villas in the Dominican Republic.

While exploring the resort, the former president of the United States described the Dominican Republic as "a truly impressive country, with beauties and unique charms".

The resort – a member of The Leading Hotels of the World – spans 7,000 tropical acres on the south eastern coast of the country and features a five star hotel, in addition to numerous villas with private pools.

Clinton chatted with tourists and purchased handcrafted pieces of art to give to his wife and grandchild, plus some Creole cigars before watching local dancers perform the "perico ripiao".

On his first night in La Romana, the former politician dined at the resort's SBG restaurant, one of eight available for guests.
