Holidays Fit for a President – With Savings of More Than £4,000 Per Family

Casa De Campo

The 42nd President of the United States, Bill Clinton, is currently enjoying a stay at Casa De Campo Resort and Villas in the Dominican Republic.

While exploring the resort, the former president of the United States described the Dominican Republic as "a truly impressive country, with beauties and unique charms".

The resort – a member of The Leading Hotels of the World – spans 7,000 tropical acres on the south eastern coast of the country and features a five star hotel, in addition to numerous villas with private pools.

Clinton is a regular visitor to the luxury property, which is home to three championship golf courses, including Teeth of the Dog, the highest ranked golf course in the Caribbean and a favourite of the former president.

Guests can relax on the sandy beach, go paddle-boarding, take a boat trip to a deserted island, try their hand at clay shooting, kayak down the river, have a pottery lesson or relax in the spa. Other facilities include a 370-slip Marina & Yacht Club, Polo & Equestrian Club and 13 tennis courts.

The former President took time to explore Altos de Chavón, which is modelled on a 16th century village and located within the grounds of the resort. The quaint village is known for offering boutique shops, museums, art galleries and is home to a 5,000-seat Grecian-style amphitheatre inaugurated by Frank Sinatra in 1982. Clinton chatted with tourists and purchased handcrafted pieces of art to give to his wife and grandchild, plus some Creole cigars before watching local dancers perform the "perico ripiao".

On his first night in La Romana, the former politician dined at the resort's SBG restaurant, one of eight available for guests.

Clinton is by no means alone in his love for the resort, which has attracted A-list celebrities, politicians and royals for decades. From Frank Sinatra and Joe Do Maggio, to Beyonce, the Kardashians, Rihanna & Richard Branson, the property is a regular holiday haunt for famous faces, some of whom even own villas on-site.

A seven night holiday including return flights from London Gatwick to Punta Cana with British Airways on 13 August, private round trip transfers and a seven night stay on all-inclusive basis in a 3 bedroomed garden villa with pool currently costs £9,489 for a family of four (or £2,372 per person) - a total saving of £4,572 off the regular price.

The all-inclusive package includes daily breakfast at the villa, lunch and dinner at a choice of 6 restaurants across the resort, unlimited drinks in a range of venues, plus unlimited horseback riding, tennis and non-motorised watersports.

The package is bookable with Exsus Travel (www.exsus.com) or tel: 01603 937743.
