A guide to fantastic holiday cocktails and where to find them

Whether it is on a beach in Cuba with a Mojito or looking over the canals in Venice with a Bellini, some cocktails just taste better when drinking them in their hometown.

As UK holidaymakers start booking their winter breaks on the beach or in the city, online travel agent, Travel Republic has released a unique cocktail themed travel guide for the most popular destinations.

The guide covers the history and interesting facts of the cocktail, ingredients and a recommendation for the best place to taste it from bloggers who are experts in the destination.

Claudia Tavani from 'My Adventures across the World' shared her recommendation for the best place to have a Margarita in Mexico, “I like to have mine at Mocambo Mexican Seafood & Lobster, in the Zona Hotelera, so that I pair it with a delicious dinner. The best way to have it is on the rocks, and with plenty of salt on the rim of the glass.”

Naomi Wilkinson, Marketing Director for Travel Republic, says, “We wanted to create a travel and drink guide as cocktails are a part of special moments people have on holiday, whether that is relaxing on a beach or taking in a city view from a rooftop bar. We hope our guide provides useful recommendations, as well as inspiration for people's next holiday.”

The guide also details, how G&T and Mojitos were created for medicinal purposes, which cocktail is named after the mother of a British Prime Minister and reveals the most recent national cocktail that is barely 10 years old.
