Sani2C, 18-21 May 2013

A popular mountain bike event that attracts local and international competitors, that runs across several destinations within the TKZN province.  Participants will undergo three days of extreme strain and requires lots of dedication and specific training to complete it comfortably and experience the enjoyment of what it has to offer. This sporting event has grown over the years that have helped to assist the profiling of TKZN.

African Renaissance Festival, 24 - 26 May 2013

In its 13th year, held at the ICC in Durban - the theme for this year is "Connecting Africa". The festival will celebrate the heritage and culture, and examine broader issues relating to redefining and rebuilding the African continent.  It is a significant gathering of like-minded citizens of Africa as they share ideas with key decision makers from around the country and abroad.

Comrades Marathon, 02 June 2013

First run in 1921 in memory of those who died in the Great War, 88 years on the race is gearing up for the biggest and most spectacular yet!  Recognised as one of the world's greatest ultra-marathons that attract participants from all over the globe, the race starts in Durban and ends in Pietermaritzburg. Tourists and locals will line the streets creating a party atmosphere cheering on the runners which has proven to be one of the most demanding and challenging marathons in the world.

Top Gear Festival South Africa, 15-16 June 2013 

Top Gear Presenters Jeremy Clarkson and James May along with their infamous tame racing driver The Stig, will once again burn rubber on the tar tracks of Moses Mabhida Stadium, during Durban's second Top Gear Festival powered by Shell V-Power. This year, the team will also be joined by two-time Formula 1 Champion Mika Häkkinen, along with a host of other celebrity guest drivers that will be joining the street circuit festivities. Sardine Festival, 21 June - 25 August 2013

One of the most amazing natural phenomena occurs off KwaZulu-Natal's South coast very year between June and July. Billions of small, silver sardines gather in massive shoals and begin a northerly migration up the coast of KwaZulu-Natal. These shoals attract an abundance of sharks, dolphins and sea birds which pursue the sardines in a prolonged feeding frenzy. Occasionally the sardines draw close in-shore and beach themselves much to the delight of the fisherman, locals and visitors who, each year flock to the coast to enjoy this truly wonderful display.

Vodacom Durban, 06 July 2013

The Bell's Fort Nottingham Highland and Traditional Games, 10 August 2013

The festival is held on the grounds and surrounding village of Fort Nottingham in the Midlands, which with some imagination, can be mistaken for the Scottish Highlands.  The festival encompasses exhibitors, food stalls, highland dancing, whiskey tasting and athletic games typically found at a Scottish Gathering like the well-known Breamar Games.  Throughout the day, locals from theMidlands and communities of Scottish ancestry will enjoy great entertainment and a number of fun competitions such as throwing the hammer and tug of war!

The Zula Reed Dance, 14 -15 September 2013

For visitors to KwaZulu-Natal, the Reed Dance festival offers one of themost colourful and vibrant tributes to experience the natural beauty and vibrant spectacle of Zulu cultural life. The festival takes its name from the riverbed reeds, which are the central focus of this two-day event. The reed-sticks are carried in a procession by thousands of young maidens who are invited to the King's palace. More than 10 000 maidens, from various communities form a procession celebrating their preparation for womanhood.

World Golf Amateur Golf Championship, 26 October - 02 November 2013 

The 19th World Golfers Championship [WGC] will take place in Durban with players participating on either an amateur level or as a corporate team from all over the world.  Over 40 countries are expected to participate in the WGC and the final is played over 72 holes at 4 golf courses in and around Durban, these include, The Cotswold Down Golf Course, Durban Country Club, Umhlali Country Club and Prince's Grant Golf Course.
