Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa is proud to announce that they have been nominated for two prestigious accolades in the 2020 World Travel Awards as follows:
Seychelles Leading Resort 2020
Seychelles Leading Family Resort 2020
The first award highlights Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa as one of the Seychelles Leading Resorts, which is presented to the very best high end 5-star resorts. Already a stunning resort, set on the paradise isle of Silhouette, the team at Labriz has taken the lockdown opportunity to revitalise the resort and the island, to enhance the guest experience further. The resort has also expanded on its existing commitment to continually strive to minimize the amount of waste it generates and energy it consumes. This beautiful resort, located on Silhouette Island, was built to incorporate and celebrate nature on this organically rich and biologically diverse isle. Over 90% of the island itself is a protected nature reserve, as are the waters that surround it. To date, the hotel's environmentally minded innovations include:
- An organic, pesticide-free garden, which produces over 200 varieties of herbs, fruit and vegetables. The garden alone has reduced the resort's energy and water consumption levels by 20 per cent.
- Resort buggies are fitted with eco-friendly solar-powered panels, which reduces energy consumption.
- The resort's filter system which harvests water from the Mount Dauban waterfall, fills glass bottles for use across Silhouette and Mahé. To date this scheme has saved over 180,000 plastic bottles.
- The implementation of a protection and adoption scheme for native Giant Tortoises on Silhouette.
- Working with the Island Conservation Society on a variety of sustainable projects, including forestry care, marine conservation and maintenance, as well as protecting the endangered indigenous Seychelles Sheath-tailed bat.
The second nomination, as Seychelles Leading Family Resort highlights the resorts commitment to providing an idyllic resort for families; offering children's menus across the resort restaurants, new family-orientated villas and an array of nature walks and classes, for a fantastic and family-friendly holiday. The highlight for many of the younger guests at Labriz is the The Little Islanders Kid's Club, which offers scores of activities and adventures to look forward to with Morris the Crab, the official mascot. Additionally, the 'Little Island Hoteliers Programme', invites kids to discover the tricks of the hotel trade as they head to the hotel kitchens for cooking lessons, or join the housekeeping team to learn how to create some spectacular towel art, and much more.
The prestigious World Travel Awards have been recognising organisations delivering outstanding customer experiences in travel and tourism for more than 25 years. They have become a key global institution of the industry, stimulating competition and innovation among operators, as well as providing a helpful testimonial for quality to travellers worldwide.
