Hilton Brisbane Plates Up a Feast of Food and Art With the Landmark Gallery of Modern Art

Hilton Brisbane

In an ongoing commitment to Brisbane's thriving cultural scene, Hilton Brisbane has announced a dining, arts and hotel package, following a partnership with the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA), winter exhibition 'Harvest: Art, Film + Food' on show until 21 September 2014.

Hilton Brisbane General Manager Ronald Van Weezel said he was proud to play an active role as a key hotel partner of this landmark exhibition which continues to embed the relationship between Hilton Brisbane and the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art.

To celebrate the partnership the hotel is inviting locals and visitors to Brisbane to experience 'Harvest' with the hotel's Hilton Harvest* accommodation package, which is exclusive to Hilton Brisbane and includes overnight accommodation for two in a Hilton Guest Room, farmers market inspired breakfast in Vintaged Bar + Grill, a 'Harvest' inspired grazing dish to be enjoyed in Vintaged Bar, entry to the exhibition, a 20% voucher to be redeemed in the GOMA store, and late check-out up until 1pm. Rates start from $270 per room per night twin share.

Vintaged Bar will also feature a 'Harvest'-inspired light bite** available throughout the duration of the exhibition. Created by Hilton Brisbane's Executive Chef Jeremy Clark, the dish locally caught Mooloolaba swordfish, avocado, radish, fennel, and cucumber served with baby herbs and sorrel, features locally sourced produce from boutique providores located within a 200 kilometre radius of the hotel.

Clark's inspiration for the dish came from the Gallery's Executive Chef Josue Lopez “I want to captivate the senses through a taste of clean vivid flavours, utilising ingredients from local growers, and that reflects the exhibition which to me is earthy and unfussed, reinforcing the restaurants ethos of simply prepared food,” Clark said.

'Harvest' features over 150 works from the Gallery's Collection, including magnificent still lifes from the seventeenth century to today, contemporary photography, bold video works, and dramatic large-scale installations, with major new acquisitions of works by Argentine artist Tomás Saraceno.

Mr Van Weezel said the collaboration marked the fifth partnership between the two destination icons and highlights pure synergies between the 'Harvest' exhibition and Hilton Brisbane's commitment to supporting local industry, local produce and the city's cultural landscape.

“We are delighted to once again align and support such a featured highlight on the Brisbane event calendar, 'Harvest: Art, Film + Food'. Food is one of the most natural emotions we can have a connection with, and the exhibition promises a unique examination of land cultivation, food, food products and how they have been central to the formation of world views and artistic expression, and we look forward to sharing with Brisbane and our guests a very different way of experiencing the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art shown through art, film and food.

“With winter upon us now is the perfect time for a winter staycation in the city; Brisbane's abundant produce is at its best, and now is the perfect time to indulge in food and art. Head to the city and rug up, and immerse yourself in the city's buzzing food and culture scene. Hilton Brisbane is ideally located a short walk across the river to the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art,” Mr Van Weezel said.
