The Westin Melbourne in collaboration with Kangan Institute's Fashion Department is proud to host 'High Fashion, High Tea' on Sunday 8 October.

Just in time for the upcoming Spring Racing season, guests can settle in for the afternoon and enjoy the sweet and savoury delights on offer whilst viewing the finest headpieces as Kangan Institute's millinery students showcase their unique designs.

Amongst the backdrop of the hotel's elegant Lobby Lounge, guests are sure to be dazzled by both the culinary and millinery creations on offer which promise a veritable feast for the senses. Included in the ticket price will be high tea, a live fashion parade and entertainment by renowned jazz artist Paul Williamson and band.

More than 20 individual looks will be on display, presenting examples of advanced construction, couture trimming, design and patternmaking that goes into producing show-stopping millinery.

Kangan tutors and renowned Melbourne milliners Melissa Jackson and Serena Lindeman will also exhibit some of their latest creations. Both Melissa and Serena are widely recognised as experts in their field, commissioned to create a variety of designs for national and international events. Melissa, a graduate of Central Saint Martin's College of Art and Design, has established a formidable reputation in the racing and fashion industry with her designs worn by many celebrities and luminaries. Serena, an award-winning milliner, has established an equally stunning reputation on the millinery circuit.

The event will also introduce the work of Italian millinery maestro Stefano Costabile, the man behind 'Steven's Hats' in Cozena, Calabria, who has been sponsored by the GAIA Foundation to travel and highlight his work in Australia.
