HF Holidays Receives Gluten-Free (GF) Accreditation from Coeliac UK

HF Holidays

HF Holidays, one of the UK's leading walking and outdoor leisure activity providers, is celebrating becoming the first hotel operator in the UK to receive full gluten-free (GF) accreditation from Coeliac UK, the national charity for people with coeliac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis.

HF Holidays is now proudly displaying Coeliac UK's GF logo in all 19 of its UK country houses as a sign of its commitment to  guests that it can safely cater for all gluten-free requirements.

To achieve the accreditation, members of HF Holidays' Hotel Operations team attended training sessions with Coeliac UK to ensure they were capable of catering for gluten-free guests.

Head of Operations at HF Holidays, Matthew Humphreys, said: “We are extremely pleased to have received Coeliac UK's GF accreditation. Working with the organisation for the last few years we felt it was important to achieve this and demonstrate our commitment to customers in safely catering for their gluten-free needs.

“Our country houses offer an excellent selection of home-cooked menu choices for all meals as well as gluten-free packed lunches and snacks.”

HF Holidays' 19 country houses are all in stunning locations in the heart of the countryside with fantastic walks right on the doorstep.

To celebrate achieving GF accreditation, HF Holidays is offering two special weekend country house escapes to Coeliac UK members, including a free goody bag full of gluten-free samples.

The first of these breaks is at Abingworth House for three nights from 25th – 28th September.

The second is at Dolgellau, also for three nights from 23rd – 26th October. Both breaks are priced at £229 per person, offering a £70 price reduction.

Sarah Sleet, Chief Executive at Coeliac UK, said: “We're very pleased to award HF Holidays our GF accreditation. Holidays should be a time of relaxation but for our members it can be stressful not knowing whether their holiday accommodation can meet their dietary needs. We hope more holiday providers follow in HF Holidays' footsteps to give our members peace of mind when away from home.”

Coeliac disease is an autoimmune disease caused by intolerance to gluten which affects 1 in 100 people in the UK. Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley and rye. There is no cure and no medication and the only treatment is a strict gluten-free diet for life. For more information visit www.coeliac.org.uk

HF Holidays also supported Coeliac UK's Awareness Week Walks which took place on Saturday 16th May from its houses at Abingworth, Bourton-on-the-Water, Brecon, Church Stretton, Dovedale and Whitby.
