Due to popular demand, Heritage Auckland is proud to present its annual World Vegetarian Day celebration dinner on Saturday 4 October in Hectors restaurant.
The vegan five-course degustation dinner is being prepared by multi-award-winning executive chef Jinu Abraham.
The menu includes a red cabbage kraut, guacamole and gigante beans taco, spinach and coconut cannoli and a main of the Vegetarian recipe award winning dish - peas and organic tofu stuffed potato with roasted Asadillo, caper raisin puree and salsa verde. Dessert is a decadent raw pistachio cacao nib truffle, Valrhona chocolate pudding, sorbet with olive caramel.
The entire meal is dairy and animal protein free. Price per person is $65 GST inc. Vegan wines will be available to purchase on the night.
The evening begins at 6.00 pm with a complimentary organic hibiscus and elderflower Kombucha drink on arrival.

Heritage Auckland was the first hotel in New Zealand to embrace vegan and vegetarian dining. The hotel began offering vegan menu items in 2011 in both its lobby cafe and Hectors restaurant. The hotel went on to be the first New Zealand restaurant to be Vegetarian accredited by the Vegetarian Society in 2013.
Executive chef, Jinu Abraham, who has spear-headed the initiatives, was first to win the New Zealand Vegetarian Dish Challenge in 2012 and has won the same prize in the luncheon category in 2014. He was also recently named on the top Australasian hotel chef list by Hotel Management Magazine Australia.
A constant innovative dining leader, last year Heritage Auckland launched a raw breakfast bar in Hectors restaurant to great success; an innovation which has had others in the hospitality industry rushing to catch up with the trend.
Hectors has a delicious vegan and vegetarian range complementing established omnivorous fare for breakfast, lunch, high tea, dinner and tapas. Heritage Auckland caters for up to 13 special dietary requirements in its restaurant, conference and wedding banquet menu options.
