Helpful Holidays' 2017 brochure features nearly 600 places to stay in the West Country, with a growing selection across Cornwall and east Devon

The newly released 2017 brochure from West Country cottage experts Helpful Holidays features 580 places to stay, with a marked increase in properties across east Devon and Cornwall, especially on the north coast and around the lovely Lizard peninsula. There are also more properties available in Dorset, Somerset and the South Hams.

The award-winning cottage specialists have launched a new-look website this year, but, unlike many holiday companies, also remain committed to their popular brochure. Moray Bowater, Helpful Holidays' Managing Director, said: “Our brochure has been effective since we started 34 years ago and many customers continue to appreciate its distinctive and straightforward style. It's complemented by our recently launched DISCOVER magazine, which is also a big hit with visitors to the West Country.”

The 2017 collection features an increase from 2016 of about 3% in total number of properties, plus a greater number of holiday homes earning high star ratings, evidence of Helpful Holidays' consistent dedication to providing guests with ever more luxurious standards of accommodation and facilities.

There is a wide variety of holiday homes, from romantic retreats for two up to big country houses accommodating a maximum of 47 guests, many with stunning views out to sea or across rolling countryside; prices range from £183 to £7,354 for a week's stay.
All Helpful Holidays' properties are regularly inspected and star rated by its team so they can advise holidaymakers honestly through first-hand experience. For 2017 50 properties earn a top 5 star rating while 90 are rated at 4½ star and 76 offer a swimming pool. Others have private moorings, or fishing rights and some are on working farms. Many are within ambling distance of the beach or local pub, and the majority welcome pets.

Many Helpful Holidays properties are strikingly luxurious and the agency has a well-established reputation for providing big and beautiful houses. Sixty of its houses accommodate 10 or more; many offer professional catering and maid service.

Looking forward to welcoming holidaymakers in 2017, Moray Bowater said: “Since Helpful Holidays began nearly 35 years ago, our 'tell it like it is' approach has ensured our team provide frank and impartial advice. We recommend properties to holidaymakers only when the combination of location, property, owner and price means we can answer 'yes' to the question 'is this a good place for my holiday?' Holidaymakers trust us to get it right”.

Helpful Holidays has received a prestigious British Travel Award for five years in succession, and won Feefo's award for Excellence in Customer Service at the 2015 BTAs. The company has again been nominated as a finalist in two categories for the 2016 BTAs, as well as being shortlisted for the Family Traveller Awards 2016.
