Hedonistic Hiking, the gourmet walking holidays specialist, has appointed travel PR consultancy, JG Communications, to manage its PR activity. The company organises guided hiking tours, accompanied by gourmet food and wine experiences, in Italy.
Comments Jackie Parsons, Hedonistic Hiking, 'We are delighted to be working with JG Communications and are confident that with Jenny Garber's experience, knowledge of Italy and passion for our product, she will be an invaluable tool to our business.'
The company still has a limited number of places available on selected autumn tours. The Jewels of Piedmont tour (25 October – 1 November 2017) combines truffle hunting and wine-tasting in the village of Barolo with hiking through vineyards, hazelnut groves and dramatic mountain scenery. The 9-day all-inclusive holiday costs €2895 per person.
Highlights of a Hedonistic Hiking tour include:
All-inclusive tours, including accommodation, all meals (with wine) and all visits, whether to a winery, a cheese producer or a museum. Tours are led by one of the two company owners, Jackie and Mick Parsons, supported by an experienced, knowledgeable team.
Gourmet food and fine wines: Lunch on most days is an al fresco picnic, rustled up with fresh regional ingredients, while restaurant dinners showcase the best local cuisine.
Accommodation is in hand-picked, locally-owned hotels. In several locations, guests stay in Italy's distinctive alberghi diffusi, an initiative which supports the conversion of empty or abandoned homes in a rural village to provide 'scattered' rooms, rather than building a new hotel.
Hike at your own pace: tours are graded according to walking difficulty and have a support vehicle available at all times.
Holidays for solo travellers: A Hedonistic Hiking holiday is an excellent option for solo travellers and for keen walkers whose partner may not share the same passion for hiking. Single supplements start at €200.
Destinations include the Dolomites, Tuscany, Piedmont, the Italian Lakes and Alps, Friuli, Emilia Romagna, Umbria, the Basilicata and the Abruzzo in Italy. Several of the tours cross borders into France, Slovenia and Austria.
Hedonistic Hiking is committed to ecological sustainability and to supporting local communities and provides advice to clients at the start of tours on minimising the impact on the environment. The company was established in 2007 by Jackie and Mick Parsons. Further information from Hedonistic Hiking (www.hedonistichiking.com, t. 01858 565148).
