It has been a bumper year for Ramblers Worldwide Holidays' charitable programme 'Heart and Sole' with almost £10,000 having been donated in 2013.

The operator, which established the initiative 2 years ago, offer guided walking adventures to 60 countries in 140 destinations and sponsor a wide-range of charities across the globe.

These include, primary schools in KwaZulu Natal and Rajasthan, SOS Children's Villages in Malawi, Costa Rica and Cape Verde, animal welfare charities SPANA and The Brooke, and Cockermouth Mountain Rescue in Cumbria.

Helen Nelson, who co-ordinates the charitable programme for RWH says, "Thanks to the support of our clients making personal donations, staff, leaders and many other contributors, targets for 2013 have gone beyond our wildest expectations.   We aim to keep up this momentum which proves so beneficial to our wide range of charities."
