Missed out on Glastonbury this year? Why not head to Budapest for one of Europe's 'must-do' music festivals and winner of Best Major Music Festival 2014[i], the Sziget Festival in August. Advance ticket prices at discounted rates are still available up until 31st July 2015.

This year promises to be bigger and better than ever with over 400,000 music fans from around 80 countries, and some of the best bands in the world descending on Óbudai Island in the middle of the Danube in Budapest for the 23rd Sziget Festival.

Some of the top names in the music business are confirmed, including Glastonbury headline act, Florence + The Machine, plus Kasabian, Robbie Williams, Kings of Leon, Kasabian, The Script, Avicii, Paloma Faith, Ellie Goulding The Ting Tings, Limp Bizkit and Marina and the Diamonds.

The event takes place on Óbudai Island, which gives the festival its unique beach like atmosphere and the party starts as soon as 'Szitizens' head over the legendary bridge to the island. This year there are more than 50 venues with around 1000 programs at the week-long event.

Sziget is not just about music, it offers several other cultural programs, such as theatre, circus, and exhibitions. It also has a beach section where fans can truly enjoy the summer and the Danube. This is also the only big festival where you will find authentic Roma music and even a gay-lesbian venue.

With the festival in the centre of Budapest, there is also the city to explore with its lively cultural scene, beautiful historic buildings, Turkish spas and special 'ruin pubs'.

There are a variety of tickets on offer with discounts up until 31st July 2015. Day passes are between €55 and €65, depending on the day, a five day pass is currently €219 and a seven day pass €249 per person.

There is also the option to buy camping or caravan tickets, as well as combining a Sziget Festival ticket with B.My.Lake festival at Lake Balaton from 19th to 22nd August.
