Hawaiian Airlines has added Continental Airlines as an interline electronic ticketing partner, resulting in faster, more convenient travel connections between the two carriers and most importantly no more waiting in long check-in lines.
Mutual customers of Hawaiian and Continental now enjoy the convenience of being able to purchase a single e-ticket and check in once for travel itineraries involving connections between the two airlines.
Previously, e-ticketed customers with connections had to stand in line and convert to a paper ticket when transferring between the two carriers. Now, they can check in once at their originating airport, receive boarding passes for all connecting flights and pick up their luggage at their final destination.
Continental is the eighth carrier with which Hawaiian has partnered on interline e-ticketing, meaning its customers connecting to or from virtually anywhere in the country can now enjoy the convenience of seamless connections.
Hawaiians e-ticketing partnerships means easier connections, fewer hassles, and virtually no waiting in check-in lines for more customers traveling to and from Hawaii, said Mark Dunkerley, Hawaiians president and chief operating officer.
Interline e-tickets are now being issued by Hawaiian and Continental through their respective reservation centers, at airport locations and ticket offices, and domestic travel agencies.
Hawaiian has also partnered with American, United, Northwest, Alaska, America West, ATA, and Delta. Later this year, Hawaiian expects to begin launching interline e-ticketing partnerships with international carriers, including those based in Europe.
