Have a 'Jurassic World' Holiday in Hawaii

World Expeditions UK

A decade after its original planned release, the new, long-awaited sequel in the 'Jurassic Park' movie franchise will be shown in theatres across the world next month.

Similarly with the previous three instalments, 'Jurassic World' was shot extensively in Hawaii – and if you find yourself inspired by the lush green nature and wild landscapes featured in the film, World Expeditions now offers two trips that allow you to explore the famous Pacific archipelago on foot or by bike.

Hawaii – Hiking the Aloha Islands
Rising out of the deep blue waters in the midst of the Pacific Ocean, the Hawaiian Islands are one of the most surprisingly diverse destinations, a world away from the US mainland and isolated from any other landmass. Hawaii's famous and hidden natural treasures range from white, green and black sand beaches, stunning waterfalls and ancient rock art sites to giant craters, frozen lava lakes and lava sputtering volcanoes. This trip follows paths that lead to incredible viewpoints overlooking the famous North Shore of Kauai, through tropical swamps and cloud forests, as well as the stark lunar-like landscape of Haleakela National Park in Maui.

• Hawaii – Hiking the Aloha Islands (14 days) departs year round on selected dates, from £2,450 per person

Oahu by Bike
Discover Hawaii's most famous island at handlebar level, on a 21-gear bike cycling along well maintained roadways while taking in spectacular views. From Honolulu's landmarks Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head, ride through the lush Manoa Valley, follow the Tantalus Loop on to picturesque Hanauma Bay, take in beautiful coral reefs, with the magnificent Koolau Range along the entire route. After experiencing the surfing mecca towns on Oahu's North Shore, your trip concludes with a visit to the Dole Plantation – originally a fruit stand back in 1950, today it is one of the most popular attractions on the island.
