This winter, The Rib Room Bar and Terrace, in partnership with William Grant & Sons UK brands Glenfiddich and The Balvenie, is set to be transformed into a cosy Scottish retreat. Featuring carefully crafted cocktails and inventive bar bites, alongside events including tastings, masterclasses and live music, the Scottish Winter Terrace will bring some warm Caledonian spirit to the heart of London's luxurious Knightsbridge district.
The Scottish Winter Terrace will see The Rib Room heated terrace adorned with greenery evocative of a Scottish pine forest, Glenfiddich barrel furniture, twinkling lights and cosy tartan cushions and blankets. Inside, the décor will celebrate Scottish outdoor pursuits and craftsmanship, including fly fishing rods, Shetland lace, wooden quaichs and stag motifs. From 7pm to 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays, The Rib Room's resident band will entertain guests with live music.
Alongside a range of small batch, rare and aged whiskies, including Glenfiddich 18 Year Old and 40 Year Old Single Malts and The Balvenie 30 Year Old and 40 Year Old Single Malts, The Rib Room bar team will be serving up a heartwarming selection of festive cocktails. Guests on the outdoor Terrace can also enjoy one of the wide range of Cuban, New World and special collection rare cigars from The Rib Room Bar's extensive list. These include a very limited edition Glenfiddich three-part cigar which is designed to be paired with a Glenfiddich whisky flight, each section of the cigar complementing one of the whiskies as it is smoked.
To accompany the drinks, Executive Head Chef Simon Young has created a menu of light bites featuring some of Scotland's finest produce. Putting a contemporary twist on some classic Scottish dishes, the menu includes Kedgeree and Arbroath smokies fish cakes with curried egg yolk dressing; Haggis and lamb neck fritters with winter spiced bramble jam; Black pudding scotch quail egg with homemade brown sauce; and “Cock-a-leekie” pasties served with sweet cured bacon and Scotch whisky jam. The food menu will also include a range of Scottish cheeses with recommended whisky pairings with The Balvenie.
For the whisky or cigar aficionado, the Scottish Winter Terrace will host a series of tasting dinners and pairing masterclasses with the Glenfiddich and The Balvenie. Guests should visit www.theribroom.co.uk for information on dates, prices and reservations.
The Scottish Winter Terrace at The Rib Room Bar & Restaurant will be open daily from 12pm from 20 November 2016 to 25 January 2017. For more information or to reserve a table, call +44 (0) 20 7858 7250 or visit www.theribroom.co.uk.
