Pay Homage to the One and Only Harley-Davidson
While you're in Milwaukee, visit some of the latest and greatest
Over Labor Day weekend, welcome the largest gathering of motorcycles in the world right here in Milwaukee! The Harley-Davidson 110th Anniversary celebration takes over its founding city with concerts, bike shows and street parties all holiday weekend long.
Tens of thousands of bikes will roar into the Harley-Davidson Museum for its weekend lineup of non-stop activities. On Thursday, August 29, celebrate with Bike Night and on Friday, see the live broadcast of Harley-Davidson ringing the Closing Bell at the New York Stock Exchange. That is just the beginning to the whirlwind of activities at the Museum including the Custom Bike Show, new product displays, a JUMPSTART (a chance to swing your leg over a Harley, rev it up, experience the thrill of shifting into high gear – all without moving an inch) featuring two 2014 models and more!
The party continues at the Henry Maier festival grounds along Milwaukee's Lake Michigan shore. More than 60 bands will perform throughout the celebration, showcasing several musical genres from rock to rap and classic to modern. Performers include Aerosmith, Kid Rock, Toby Keith, ZZ Top, Lupe Fiasco and more.
Additional Harley-Davidson 110th Anniversary activities will take place at several Harley-Davidson dealerships and there will also be street parties in downtown neighborhoods.
While you're making your way around town, see Milwaukee's latest boutique hotel unlike any other in the world. The Brewhouse Inn & Suites is housed within the former Pabst brewery and incorporates its historic elements into the design. On the second floor you'll see five large copper kettles that were once used in the brewing process and a 125-year-oldgiant stained glass window portraying King Gambrinus, the patron saint of beer brewing. Just off the lobby, on site restaurant Jackson's Blue Ribbon Pub serves pub food and also features a seasonal beer garden to enjoy a brew on a warm summer day.
Don't skip out on a tour of Miller Park, home of the Milwaukee Brewers and the only retractable fan-shaped roof in the country! On the tour you'll see the dugout, luxury suite level, the visiting clubhouse, press box, Bob Uecker's broadcast booth and many more behind-the-scenes attractions!
