As part of their on-going commitment to CSR and supporting children from poor areas, a team of 9 team members from Hansar Samui flew to Chiang Mai earlier this month to extend their charitable reach to the north of Thailand.  This trip was made possible with the support of Bangkok Airways who made the trip possible with a special fare for the team members.

The group visited 6 schools with a total of 220 students and donated school bags, school supplies and money to provide a scholarship for the best student in each school.  The parents of many of the children in these schools are farmers who work in the tea plantations.  The schools visited were Mae Mam School, Mae Krai School, Pa Pea School, Bang Pa Kuai School, Mae Lao School and Mae Sae School.

Hansar Samui also adopted the Mae Mam School and will support them with monthly financial assistance.  The children at this school come from very poor families and have to walk 3 km to the school.  Sometimes they need to stay overnight at the school due to bad weather.

Indra Budiman' Hansar Hotels & Resorts CEO said “We will continue to provide further donations to the children in the north of Thailand as we have done in the South.  “I am most grateful to Bangkok Airways for making the trip possible, he continued.
