Family luxury voluntourism provider offers inspiring
elephant conservation trip to Thailand
New York, NY – Award winning luxury family voluntourism provider Hands Up Holidays is offering Sustainable Luxury Thailand with the Family, a one-time opportunity for four families to travel to Thailand with Hands Up founder Christopher Hill, his wife, and two children. The trip, which takes place from Sunday, July 23 to Tuesday, August 1, 2017, enables families to engage in elephant conservation, exploration and relaxation.
Arriving in Chiang Mai on Sunday, each family stays in utmost comfort in two-bedroom suites at The Four Seasons and enjoys a day at leisure before gathering together for a group dinner. The next day, the group takes a private guided tour of Chiang Mai, the largest city in Northern Thailand.
From Tuesday through Thursday, families roll up their sleeves and work to care of Thailand's elephants, helping prepare their meals, feed them, walk them, and bathe them, all while learning about the animals, their environment, their needs and their importance to Thailand. Children and parents will leave Thailand with a much greater understanding of the urgent need to sustain elephant populations and the challenges this entails. Families will bond closer together as a result of all helping to support these gentle giants.
On Friday, families enjoy a free day to themselves. Activity options include zip lining, kick-boxing lessons, Thai cooking classes, a visit to Doi Inthanon National Park, Thai language lessons, yoga, spa treatments, shopping in local markets and more. The group reconvenes on Saturday to fly to Koh Kood, where each family will stay in its own two-room villa at the eco-luxe Soneva Kiri resort. Here, the group closes out its stay in Thailand by delighting in three days of fun and relaxation, with activities including painting and art classes, rain forest walks, fishing, sunset cruises, snorkeling and diving.
Sustainable Luxury Thailand with the Family is available for $18,890 per adult and $12,350 per child under 12 (based on a minimum two children). Families must book by Friday, March 31. Due to the limited group size, the tour is available on a first come, first served basis and may sell out before booking close date. There is no minimum age requirement for children, but Hands Up Holidays recommends age 4 or older for participation. Day care is available for younger children. All breakfasts and most lunches are included. The trip price also includes all internal flights within Thailand (including to and from Koh Kood), carbon offsetting for the entire trip – including flights – is also included on each family's behalf.
