Hamilton Island Celebrates Mother's Day with Charity Walk

Hamilton Island will proudly host the Mother's Day Classic “Walk in the Park” fundraiser for Breast Cancer Research as a tribute to mums all around Australia on Sunday 11 May.

This is the fourth time Hamilton Island has held this popular Mother's Day tradition which raises funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation and increases awareness about a disease that affects one in nine Australian women.  

Glenn Bourke, Hamilton Island CEO said: “This event offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the destination while rallying together as a community to celebrate the many special women in our lives.”

The event kicks off at 8am at the Bougainvillea Marquee and is open to people of all fitness levels, Participants can have the option to choose either a scenic 4.2km walk or a 6.7km run around the Island. 

A sausage sizzle will be served after the event with activities and entertainment available for families to relax and enjoy around the beachside Bougainvillea pool.

Hamilton Island's impressive Spa wumurdaylin or Spa qualia will be open all afternoon for those wanting to take the energy levels down a notch or two and indulge in a much needed massage or soothing foot treatment.
