Haborplace Heats Up the Summer With Sizzling Events

Harborplace has lined up a great summer of sizzling events from commemorating the 60th Anniversary of D-Day to a seven-mile run/walk celebrating survivors of serious illnesses to a summer full of fantastic music. In addition, visitors can take advantage of the Harbor Pass, offering discounts at area attractions, lodging and restaurants. And as always, Harborplace offers great shopping, dining and entertainment in all three of its pavilions. There is surely something to delight and entertain the entire family at Harborplace this summer.

Liberty Week, 5/31 � 6/4: Commemorating the 60th anniversary of D-Day, Liberty Week features events beginning on Monday, May 31, and continuing through Sunday, June 6. Events include living history presentations, a special ceremony to honor the Baltimore City Fire Department, military vehicles and equipment displays and an honorary fireworks display on Saturday night.

On the day of the actual anniversary, June 6, a special memorial service will be conducted at the Harborplace Amphitheatre in honor of the country�s military personnel.

In addition, military historian and veteran speakers will be onboard Baltimore�s Liberty Ship, the John W. Brown � one of only two Liberty Ships still sailing today � throughout the week to give visitors a look at what life was like during this time in our nation�s history.

Survivor Harbor 7, 6/12: Survivor Harbor 7, a seven-mile running event will take place Saturday, June 12, along the Inner Harbor Promenade. Survivor Harbor 7 will be the first race of its kind to feature top runners competing alongside survivor athletes in their respective divisions, and will also be the first running event to follow the panoramic Baltimore inner harbor route.

Organized by the Baltimore-based Active Survivors Network in partnership with the Lance Armstrong Foundation, the inaugural run-walk event will feature men�s and women�s open competitive divisions as well as survivor divisions for those recovering from or living with serious illness.

Summer Concert Series: Steamy summer nights are cooler at the Harborplace. Starting Memorial Day weekend, May 29, the Harborplace Amphitheatre will host some of the area's finest musical artists.
