Guy Woodward Appointed Editor Of Food And Travel Magazine

Food and Travel Magazine

Green Pea Publishing announces the appointment of Guy Woodward as editor of the leading upscale lifestyle magazine Food and Travel.

Woodward joins after ten years at IPC Media, where he was editor of wine title Decanter.

Commenting on his appointment, Woodward said: 'I couldn't be happier to be making this move. I've wanted to branch out into this sector for some time, and have long admired Food and Travel as a brand.

It occupies a unique niche in the field, giving it a strong identity, while allowing me to broaden out from what was a specialist pursuit to a more general interest title.' 'I'm also excited to work on a title with such a strong visual presence, and to build on the great work of my predecessor, Alex Mead.'

Gregor Rankin, publisher of Food and Travel, said: 'In Guy I believe we have found the perfect candidate to build on the continuing success of the brand. His expertise in wine, one of our editorial strands, and a passion for travel and food, are added bonuses to his undoubted skills as an editor, and we look forward to his contribution and leadership.'

Woodward will start his new role on 2 January 2013, a year in which he will also serve as vice-chair of the British Society of Magazine Editors.

Food and Travel magazine, priced at £3.95, is available at all good news outlets as well as in digital format. The magazine launched in 1997 and recently celebrated its 150th issue. It also launched its Food and Travel Awards earlier this year. It is distributed in over 40 countries and local language editions are published under licence in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Mexico.
