Group Press Trip Invitation: Visit Eagles Palace Hotel & Spa As Well As Mount Athos, The Oldest Surviving Monastic Community In The World (Founded In 1054)

Eagles Palace

You will stay for 3 nights at Eagles Palace Hotel & Spa and one night at one of the monasteries of Mount Athos, the oldest surviving monastic community in the world. You will be able to attend the services at the monastery, take a guided tour and / or visit the relics of the monasteries and taste the food of the monks – there will also be some free time to explore the region further.

MOUNT ATHOS
Known for its religious background, legend states that overwhelmed by the mountain's wild and natural beauty, the virgin Mary asked God to give her the mountain. For this reason, the mountain is often referred to as 'the garden of the Mother of God', and has since, to this day, been out of bounds to any other women; even female animals!

Now inhabited by 1,400 monks who follow a strict regimen of daily activities, Mount Athos is considered one of the secret gems in Northern Greece.
