Gray Line New Orleans Takes You Off the Beaten Path

Gray Line Worldwide

Starting March 18, 2003, Gray Line New Orleans, will give visitors to New Orleans an opportunity to take an exclusive look at the history and culture of New Orleans that you cant get with other tours. They'll also have a view from the large windows in a deluxe van.

This unique tour winds through the charming FRENCH QUARTER, Americas oldest neighborhood, as well as the FAUBOURG MARIGNY, one of the earliest Creole suburbs, renowned for its striking architecture and historic sites.

Youll visit the childhood neighborhood of New Orleans musical ambassador, jazz legend LOUIS ARMSTRONG, and see the actual buildings where he got his professional start on the road to stardom.

The tour includes a stop at the SHRINE OF ST. ROCH, located in ST. ROCH CEMETERY. This cemetery is considered the citys most interesting. The shrine is a replica of a Gothic chapel and contains unique "thanks offerings" called ex-votoes, which have to be seen to be believed, as they are replicas of whole persons or parts of bodies that were healed! Visitors from around the world once made pilgrimages to this sacred shrine.

We also include a refreshment stop at a neighborhood caf in the Faubourg Marigny.

The cost will be $45.00 for adults and $25.00 for children 12 and over. Reservations are required due to the limited capacity of the van (13 passengers). For reservations visit www.grayline.com.

The tour will depart daily from the Gray Line Lighthouse located at Toulouse St and the Mississippi River at the Steamboat Natchez dock.
