New film 'Inferno', based on the 2013 Dan Brown novel will be in UK cinemas from next Wednesday 14th October. In celebration of the launch of this mystery thriller, leading wine tour operator Grape Escapes are delighted to unveil their newest Tuscany package, based in Florence; Essential Inferno!
Grape Escapes' Inferno Tour gives guests the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of Dan Brown's Inferno protagonist, Robert Langdon on a fully immersive and fascinating walking tour of the city. A charismatic guide will entertain guests with mind-blowing details, anecdotes and a clue-filled history that will reveal all of the most important sights and locations that Professor Robert Langdon visited in Dan Brown's dark masterpiece. Highlights include an introduction to Dante and his Divine Comedy; focusing in particular on Botticelli's painting entitled Inferno, the Paradise Gates and the Duomo, with explanations of the symbols and codes described in the book.
The tour culminates at Palazzo Vecchio, Florence's Town Hall, where faith and science entwine with breath-taking revelations; this unique building was described by Dan Brown as, “a giant chess piece that has become an inimitable symbol of Florence.” At Palazzo Vecchio, guests will admire the Hall of Geographical Maps, the Capriate, the balconies and Dante's famous death Mask.
As a Grape Escape, this illuminating tour is also combined with the opportunity to delight in the much sought-after Tuscan wines, enjoying a tutored tasting session in a local wine bar, as well as indulging in a delicious six course gastronomic dinner with drinks to try the local cuisine!
