BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort introduces its first Grandparent's Week from 7-11 April with a return to the good old days when all generations knew how to find enjoyment in simple activities. With a full schedule of fun indoor and outdoor games and activities, Grandparent's Week is designed for families to take the opportunity to get together in tropical paradise for some truly mega multi-generational fun.
With over 30 major tourism awards to their name, BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort offers Airlie Beach accommodation in a 10 hectare tropical oasis. A favourite Whitsunday holiday destination for many families, the resort is constantly coming up with new and exciting events. Resort owner Naomi McKinnon says, “we often have multi-generations of a family come and stay so we thought 'why not organise a special Grandparent's Week' and focus on all the good old fashioned fun and games? I'm passionate about our kids turning off all their devices and getting outside and enjoying the world around them and I think many parents and grandparents feel the same way. We have the perfect environment for families to really spend some enjoyable and memorable quality time together.”
Active kids can keep busy during Grandparent's Week with scavenger hunts, mini Olympics, mini golf, kite flying or a wide choice of the many sporting activities available in the resort. For those who enjoy gentler activities there are classes in knitting, beading, cross stitch, painting and biscuit decorating. Evening entertainment includes outdoor movies, a family spit roast by the pool, a sausage sizzle, a battle of the generations trivia night and an outdoor 'WII Just Dance' disco. If all that activity sounds too exhausting for some grandparents (or parents), there is also an opportunity for a peaceful massage by the pool and an afternoon 'nana' nap while the kids keep busy with balls, bats, go karts and making new friends in Kid's Club.
With a wide choice of designer-decorated cabins and caravan and camping sites, BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort has something for the whole family including a lagoon-style swimming pool, water slides, a full-size tennis court, an impressive 18-hole mini-golf course, outdoor cinema, organised social events, modern amenities, free BBQs, camp kitchen and wireless internet.
