Grand Tour is an architecture and travel magazine app, available for iPhone and iPad. Helsinki is the next destination in our series of guides, which will be on the App Store by the end of October. We are hosting a preview breakfast at Nordic Bakery, Dorset Street, London, this Saturday 18th October.
The guide looks at the history of Helsinki through six key architecture sites, an introduction by curator and design critic Jane Withers, as well as an insider view by the influential theorist and architect Juhani Pallasmaa. There are listings with recommendations by native connoisseurs and a handy offline map.
A print edition of Helsinki will be out next year, following El Raval, now available at RIBA bookshop. Other destinations in the series include Marseille, Silver Lake (LA) and Marrakech, all chosen because they represent something special in the history of architecture
