Chinese Tourists to Enjoy Special Services, Retailer Offerings, and an Exclusive Menu at M.Y. China When Visiting San Francisco’s

Premier Shopping Center this October

 

SAN FRANCISCO (August 28, 2013) — Westfield San Francisco Centre, the city’s premier destination for world-class fashion, entertainment, and dining will offer special guest services that cater to international travelers in celebration of Golden Week 2013, October 1-7, 2013.  National Day Golden Week is an annual 7-day national holiday, when more than 120 million residents from the People’s Republic of China travel to visit family, friends and overseas destinations; California being one of the most popular. As San Francisco, home of the largest Chinatown outside of Asia, prepares to welcome an increase in Chinese tourists, Westfield San Francisco Centre will unveil an expanded suite of special services, retailer offerings, and dining experiences this October.

Services & Amenities for International Travelers

When arriving at Westfield San Francisco Centre, out-of-town guests are invited to stop by Westfield Guest Services, located at the Market Street entrance across from Abercrombie & Fitch, to learn about a wide array of services and amenities for international travelers.  A store directory is available in both English and Mandarin.  The directory guides visitors throughout the Centre and the Mandarin directory notes which retailers accept China UnionPay, the preferred method of payment in the People’s Republic of China and Taiwan.  Guests may also use China UnionPay at Westfield Guest Services. Westfield San Francisco Centre also offers LanguageLine, an on-demand three-way video interpretation service in over 200 languages, including Mandarin, Cantonese, and regional dialects.  LangugeLine is available at Westfield Guest Services, where highly-trained ambassadors assist with itinerary planning, dinner reservations, transportation inquiries, coordinating spa appointments, gift suggestions and more.  An ATM and Currency Exchange are conveniently located near Westfield Guest Services.
 

VIP Passport to Savings

Westfield San Francisco Centre encourages visitors to participate in the VIP Passport to Savings program, which entitles travelers to thousands of dollars in savings, special offers and services provided by dozens of participating shops and restaurants.  Vouchers are available at most area hotels, visitor centers, or from tour operators and travel agents. Visitors can obtain a VIP Passport to Savings by presenting a voucher, out-of-town driver’s license, passport or hotel room key at Westfield Guest Services.

 

M.Y. China Specialty Menu & Other Dining Options

M.Y. China offers authentic Chinese cuisine in a modern experience and was opened by celebrity chef and James Beard Award Winner Martin Yan. M.Y. China will offer a special menu from October 1–7, 2013 to celebrate Golden Week.  The menu, priced at $150 for two, features five courses and new dishes prepared with rare ingredients such as crocodile and abalone.  Sample specialty dishes will include: Moose and Mixed Vegetables and Turtle Soup, among others.  M.Y. Should visitors crave another specialty cuisine or desire a quick bite to eat, Westfield San Francisco Centre provides a variety of dining options for all to enjoy.  With the Restaurant Collection Under the Dome on Level 4, guests can enjoy an exceptional meal at LarkCreekSteak, savor the Pan-Asian dishes of Straits Restaurant, celebrate the flavors of Italy at Cupola Pizzeria, or feast on the decadent "Le Dome" dessert atLa Boulange du Dome.  For brisk service and a café-style atmosphere, visitors can dine at the Food Emporium, serving delicious, fresh fare from more than 15 gourmet eateries. For a quick bite on-the-go, shoppers can stop by the Food Emporium Express, located on the concourse level.
 

Bloomingdale’s Special Offers

The west coast flagship of Bloomingdale’s is located at Westfield San Francisco Centre and provides translated in-store signage and language assistance from over 20 Mandarin and Cantonese speaking employees.  Upon arrival, guests are invited to stop by the Bloomingdale’s Visitor Center on Level 1 for special offers and multilingual directories. Bloomingdale’s also accepts all forms of China UnionPay.
