Gidleigh Park Links Up With Liberty Trails To Provide The Ultimate Dartmoor Riding, Eating And Sleeping Experience

Liberty Trails

Gidleigh Park and Liberty Trails have teamed up to provide an unforgettable escape on Dartmoor which combines two days of progressive riding across magnificent scenery with a luxurious three night dining experience in five star accommodation.

Gidleigh Park, a Relais Chateau hotel, is in a stunning location on Dartmoor and is home to the much loved two Michelin starred celebrity chef Michael Caines MBE. It offers one of the finest dining experiences in the UK and staying there is a five star experience of exceptional luxury.

Liberty Trails specialises in guided riding safaris on beautiful, quality well-trained horses across Dartmoor, where there are breathtaking views in every direction. Guests enjoy unforgettable days in the saddle riding across stunning landscapes and can bring their own horses if preferred, which will be stabled in the peace and seclusion of a secure privately owned yard.

Each riding package is tailored to suit individual riding abilities with differing ride lengths adapted for those wanting shorter relaxing days. For those wanting more of a challenge, a two-day progressive ride of up to 17 miles is a favourite. Groups are exclusive, taking a maximum of four riders at a time and are specifically for experienced and confident riders wanting to ride over wide- open spaces and varying terrain at differing speeds.

At the end of each day’s ride guests are taken back to Gidleigh Park to enjoy three different dining experiences including a light supper, à la carte dinner and the acclaimed eight– course signature menu.

Prices for the three night stay for two people start from £4,030. The package also includes early morning tea or coffee, newspapers in your room and cooked or continental breakfasts and full afternoon tea on arrival.

On each riding day a sumptuous safari lunch, a riders packed lunch or a lunch at a Dartmoor Inn is provided and as a memento of this highly treasured experience, guests are given a selection of photos capturing the highlights of the ride taken by a professional equestrian photographer.

The Gidleigh Pavilion

Enjoy the opportunity to escape to your own charming hideaway. The Pavilion is a self-contained thatched cottage in the grounds overlooking the croquet lawn. A wonderful home from home, it comprises a two bedroom interconnecting suite, each bedroom with its own bathroom, an open plan panelled sitting room with kitchen diner and a private veranda.

An ideal location for a longer stay, the Pavilion Cottage affords guests a discreet bolthole, whilst offering all the luxury of the main house. The Pavilion is perfect for guests with who want to enjoy a little more space and privacy. This is also one of our three dog-friendly rooms, which are available.

The dining experience in the restaurant at Gidleigh Park is very much an adult affair and so we do request that only children over eight years of age join us in the dining room. For younger guests staying with us, we are happy to offer high tea between 5.00pm and 6.30pm from the children's menu of the day. This can be served in the public rooms, on the terrace in the summer months or as room service.

Provided for your comfort and enjoyment, L’Occitane toiletries, fluffy white bathrobes and slippers, fresh fruit, spring water from the Gidleigh estate and a decanter of Madeira. More information about the Pavilion can be found at http://www.gidleigh.com/rooms/pavilion.
