GIANT TAYLOR SWIFT LEGO® MOSAIC AT LEGOLAND WINDSOR RESORT

TO MARK OPENING OF NEW LEGO® FRIENDS AREA

 To celebrate the opening of Heartlake City, a brand new LEGO® Friends themed area, guests to the LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort have built a gigantic 2.6m x 3.6m LEGO mosaic of singing superstar Taylor Swift after she topped a poll asking youngsters which celebrity they would most like as their best friend. The mosaic was created by fans visiting the Resort on the Bank Holiday weekend using a total of 35,840 individual bricks, and guests can see it on display until May 31.

The template design was created by Master LEGO Model Makers with guests building small individual parts to make up 140 different sections, which were joined together this morning to create the final image.

“We wanted to celebrate the opening of our new LEGO Friends area in a big way and this giant mosaic certainly does that,” commented LEGOLAND Windsor Resort's PR Manager, Lauren Moss. “Heartlake City is all about friendship and fun so we asked youngsters to choose who their best celebrity friend might be.  Taylor won hands down beating off Zoella, Ella Henderson, Rita Ora, Olly Murs and Ed Sheeran in a hotly contested poll. People have loved getting involved in bringing this striking image to life over the past couple of days and I think the end result is amazing. Taylor will be smiling down on guests in all her LEGO glory until the end of the month.”

Heartlake City opened on 23 May and features exciting new attractions, an exciting new ride and an action packed live show starring Mia, Andrea, Stephanie, Emma and Olivia. There are also ten new LEGO Friends themed rooms at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort Hotel. The poll was conducted on the Resort's website between 7 and 10 April.
