GHM Ceases Management of The Chedi, Phuket

General Hotel Management Limited (GHM), a market leader in stylish luxury hotel development and management, has announced that it will discontinue management of The Chedi, Phuket under a mutual agreement with the owning company Surin Bay Company Limited with effect from September 2009. As part of the agreement, the hotel will still continue to use the name The Chedi Phuket for another year and the staff, who are directly employed by the owning company, will remain unchanged.

�GHM has managed this hotel since 1995 and its success has helped us expand The Chedi brand globally. We wish the property and its owners every success in the future,� said Hans R Jenni, President and Director of GHM.

Under GHM�s management, the resort which is located on Phuket�s Pansea Beach, received many accolades including being voted No. 2 Best Overseas Leisure Hotel in Asia & The Indian Subcontinent and No. 13 of the World's Top 100 in the 2007 Conde Nast Traveller Reader�s Travel Awards. In 2008, The Chedi was No. 2 in the World�s Top 100 Hotels and 1st Runner Up in Overseas Leisure Hotels for Asia and Indian Subcontinent from Conde Nast Traveller UK. Also in 2008, The Chedi Phuket was also listed by Travel + Leisure Australia & New Zealand as one of the top �100 Best Holiday Discoveries�.
