Luxury hotel and resort management company GHM is pleased to announce the appointment of accomplished international hotelier John Blanco as General Manager of The Nam Hai, its luxury resort in central Vietnam.

Joining GHM after opening the luxury resort The Bristol Buenaventura in Panama, John brings with him a wealth of hotel management experience from across the world, including roles in luxury resorts in Switzerland, France, the United States, Mexico, Spain, Singapore and Bali.

A seasoned veteran with over 25 years in the luxury hospitality business with a lengthy association with Ritz-Carlton, John's knowledge of restaurant and hotel management will be a great asset to GHM.

Mr Hans Jenni, President and Director of GHM remarks, "We are delighted to welcome John to GHM and The Nam Hai. He is a well-respected and highly experienced hotelier who, in his role as General Manager, will continue to drive the success of the resort and take it to new heights".

John's first appointment as General Manager was at The Ritz-Carlton, Penha Longa Portugal, and from 2006 to 2009 he was Managing Director of The Landmark Hotels Group in Hawaii, responsible for properties in both Honolulu and Mexico City.

Born in Venezuela, John is fluent in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese, and conversant in Italian and German. He is a graduate of the University of California Berkeley and the prestigious Centre International de Glion in Switzerland. John is married with four children.

The Nam Hai set a new standard in luxury hospitality in Vietnam when it opened on Hoi An Beach in December 2006. Spread over 35 hectares and with a kilometre of pristine white sand beachfront, The Nam Hai features 60 private villas and 40 pool villas each with its own landscaped garden and views of the South China Sea and offshore Cham Islands.

Nearby is Hoi An (10 km), a remarkably well-preserved ancient Asian trading port with an exciting fusion of cultures dating from the 15th century. The town's influence reflects indigenous Vietnamese culture combined with Chinese and French colonial architecture to create this unique UNESCO World Heritage listed site, one of three in the area.
